A dam of darkness and sadness wounds

The event also took place along the streets. The project "Literature on transit" took place in the middle of the congestion urban chaos of Sao Paulo. Artists recited their poems from inside a taxi cab. People could take a ride in a cab which the driver (an actor) recited poems from Brazilian artists. People needed to make reservations for the cab ride in advance.

Poetry to Carry-Out Project

A small piece of paper carries a magnificent piece of art. It is there, displayed at the side of another, and another, as an advertisement panel. People just have to grab it. It is very simple, indeed! People just need some sensitivity to notice the poems written by talented Brazilian artists hanged on the wall. The project is curated by Ricardo Silveira, art designer and poet. It gathers pieces of arts from Ademir Assunção, Alice Sant´Anna, Ana Guadalupe, Carlito Azevedo, Fabrício Corsaletti e Ricardo Silveira.
take a poem
take it
a brief verse
that rimes along your destiny
takes you away from your balance
and put you back
different. Very different.

Inspiring Cities Museum of CityPoems
Inspiring Cities has collected many citypoems over the years, as well as organized salons with citypoets and cities doing special projects. We have two criteria for what a citypoem is: the intention must be poetic, and it must be in the public realm of cities. Shapes, form and locations can and do differ.
The Museum of CityPoems has citypoems from cities all over the world. From Alhambra to Zonnebeke, from Taipei to Lima.
Got one yourself? Mail us your pictures (free of rights) and description, and we will publish.
